Engineering Lab for Water Pollution Control and Resources Recovery in Jilin Province
"Engineering Lab for Water Pollution Control and Resources Recovery" was established in 2015. The chairman of the laboratory is professor Zhou Dandan.The main purport of the laboratory is energy saving and environment friendly, the characteristic is wastewater sustainable development and resourceful utilization. The laboratory cultivates versatile innovators, transforms scientific research achievement into productivity, focus on water pollution control and resource related to new theory, new technology and applied research, these researches are the critical factors of integrated technology, integrated innovation, technology promotion, technology services, personnel training and academic cooperation. Jilin province water pollution control and resource engineering is the high level engineering laboratory with its own the characteristics in China.
The engineering laboratory has four research groups, they are water resource regeneration and utilization, biological wastewater treatment and biomass transformation, persistent organic pollutants control, and toxicity evaluation of pollutant. The chief researcher of the four groups are Prof. Huo Mingxin, Prof. Zhou Dandan, Prof. Guo Yihang, and Prof. Yuan Xing, respectively. Jilin province water pollution control and resource engineering laboratory including 60 fellows, of which 50 permanent researchers, 10 migrant researchers. There are 18 intermediate-grade professionals and 42 senior-grade professionals, including a academician of both China and United States, a winner of Outstanding Youth Foundation of national natural science foundation of China, a New Century Excellent Talent of Education Ministry. Researchers in the engineering laboratory have obtained national scientific and technological progress minor awards for two times, province scientific and technological progress major awards for three times and minor awards for two times.
The engineering laboratory has been equipped with a variety of advanced large-scale instruments, such as ultra-performance liquid chromatography, gel chromatography, gas chromatography, ion chromatography, three dimensional fluorescence spectrum, the total organic carbon analyzer, the size distribution analyzer, fluorescence microscope, polymerase chain reaction analyzer, gel imaging system, etc., these instruments provide sufficient analysis methods for scientific research, technology research and social service work.
